These Terms of Service govern the use of the GrinTale platform. By using the service, you fully accept these terms.
1. Description of the Service
GrinTale is a web platform for creative and professional writing that allows you to organize projects, write texts, manage characters and locations, and export manuscripts in various formats.
2. Registration and Account
- An account with email and password is required to use GrinTale
- You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential
- Creating fake accounts or sharing access with third parties is prohibited
- GrinTale reserves the right to suspend accounts that violate these terms
3. Subscriptions and Payments
3.1 Plans
GrinTale is available with a 15-day free trial, then a paid annual subscription. You can cancel at any time. Current prices are shown on the pricing page.
3.2 Payment and Renewal
- Payments are securely processed by Stripe
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period
- You can cancel automatic renewal at any time from Settings → Billing or by writing to marghi@grintale.it. Cancellation stops automatic renewal; the service remains active until the end of the already-paid period.
3.3 Right of Withdrawal and Refunds
GrinTale offers two distinct access paths:
- Free trial (15 days): activated by creating an account on the registration page, with no credit card required. When the 15 days expire, if the user has not subscribed, access is suspended; data is retained for a further 90 days and then permanently deleted. No automatic charge is made.
- Direct subscription: activated from the checkout page with an immediate annual charge at the price shown on the pricing page. The two paths are independent: choosing the free trial involves no financial commitment.
Pursuant to Art. 59(o) of the Consumer Rights Directive (EU 2011/83/EU), the 14-day right of withdrawal does not apply to the supply of digital content not supplied on a tangible medium if performance has begun with the consumer's prior express consent. By subscribing via the checkout page, the user expressly consents to the immediate performance of the digital service and acknowledges the consequent loss of the right of withdrawal. Therefore, after the annual fee has been charged, no refunds will be issued.
You can still cancel automatic renewal at any time from your account panel, under Settings → Billing. From there, through a direct and secure link to the Stripe customer portal, you can stop future payments independently and with immediate effect.
4. User Content
- You retain full intellectual property over all content you create
- GrinTale claims no rights over your texts, projects or uploaded files
- Uploading illegal, offensive or copyright-infringing content is prohibited
5. Acceptable Use
You may not use GrinTale for illegal activities, distributing malware, accessing other users' data, overloading servers or reverse engineering the platform.
6. Service Availability
GrinTale strives for maximum availability but cannot guarantee 100% uptime. We are not liable for losses resulting from service interruptions.
7. Limitation of Liability
GrinTale's maximum liability is limited to the amount paid by the user in the last 12 months.
The user is solely responsible for making periodic backup copies of their own content. GrinTale shall not be liable for the accidental loss of data or content, regardless of the cause.
8. Changes
Material changes will be communicated by email with at least 30 days' notice.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by Italian law.
10. Online Dispute Resolution (ODR)
